Two headed “H-2” Multi-kit Southern Pacific Union Switch & Signal (US&S) searchlight signal, used in Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) territory as a siding entrance signal. This is an unassembled kit composed of injection molded plastic, photoetched brass and resin components. 11×17 photograph of the 1981 Daylight Excursion train that traveled to the inauguration of the Sacramento Railroad Museum. It is significant in that this is the first time that the 4449 operated in Daylight colors, having been repainted from the American Freedom Train colors of red, white and blue. It was the first time I ever saw a Daylight painted locomotive. The photo is taken near Azalea just north of Dunsmuir California in the Sacramento River Canyon.
